it's funny, i've basically lived in utah valley my entire life, but there is something about BYU that is unlike everything else.
yet, i feel so grateful that i'm here, at this beloved university.
it truly is my dream college; i've bled blue my whole life
only at BYU:
+ will 2 white guys bust out a conversation in a completely different language.
+ will the majority of your classmates have their left ring finger occupied.
+ do people make comments in every class, not just religion, starting with, "on my mission..."
+ are men walking around in a shirt and tie.
+ will you hear babies crying in the back of your lecture hall.
+ and.. there is a baby changing area in every women's restroom
+ is there a piano in every class
+ will you see people praying before they step into the testing center.
+ do you see more hand holding, and spooning on the grass when the weather permits
+ do people freak out when there is a can of coke zero available in a vending machine in the Bramhall building.
but honestly, not everything is goofy -- only at BYU:
+ do you pray and sing a hymn before class
+ do you walk out of a humanities or physical science class full of the spirit
+ will people just smile at you as you walk by
+ is the temple is PACKED all day, everyday. even at 6 in the morning.
+ is there a devotional once a week where the entire campus shuts down.
+ will guys hold open the door for you, even if you are far behind them.
+ do you spend the first 10-15 minutes before class on the days after conference discussing things that stood out to you.
I love this place & I am so grateful I can call myself a cougar.
a BYU cougar that is.
